The firm of HARTMAN ENGINEERING is internationally known for providing specialized designs of deep excavation protection such as cofferdams and other retaining structures, foundation underpinning and protection of existing structures during construction. All designs are unique for the site conditions and the needs of the owner and contractor. The calculations for the design may utilize proprietary software, commercial programs or, most often, manual calculations by an experienced engineer.

During the design process a great deal of consideration is given to the construction methods and materials needed to build excavation protection as well as the project structures. Often the design includes a construction sequence to assure it will be built in a safe and efficient manner. All designs are checked by experienced engineers familiar with the work.

A complete set of drawings and specifications are provided. HARTMAN ENGINEERING has received many acknowledgements that the plans and specifications are complete and reduce the potential for field problems to a minimum. We have found that by putting more effort in the design process the construction phase moves more smoothly and it saves substantial time and money.
